Hi! Thanks for visiting! I am a Vietnamese-American artist, born in Jackson, MS but lived majority of my life in Gulfport, MS and where I currently live now! I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BFA in graphic design. I love hand lettering in my free time, spending time with my husband & family, and traveling to new states. I’ve even started a magnet collection!

While my passions include layout/publication design, typography, branding, and web design, I have a wide range of knowledge in other areas and eager to learn new skills! Currently, I am the Director of Marketing & Branding at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast and the volunteer designer for Pink Heart Funds. I also love working on freelance projects when I get the opportunity.

Heeeeeellloooo, I’m Sam!

Samantha is my official name, but most people call me Sam! I am Vietnamese-American, raised by my mom & dad, with an older and younger sister. I was born in Jackson, MS where we lived for a few years then relocated to Gulfport, MS. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a BFA in graphic design. Here’s me at the art building, where I spent literally my entire time (besides occasional visits to the library) at!

Over the years at Southern Miss, I tried to learn everything I possibly could about graphic design. Even though I’ve gained a big interest in layout/publication design, website design, and typography, I have a wide range of knowledge and am always eager to learn new skills. • I am currently employed at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast as the Director of Marketing & Branding. I started as the Digital Arts Specialist in June 2021 then in October of 2022 transitioned into my current position.

A fun fact about me is that I’ve been learning hand lettering since about 2014 and enjoy lettering/painting quotes in my free time. I’m constantly online looking at expressive type and modern calligraphy artists (Faelpt | HomSweetHom) because I’m very interested in seeing how letterforms connect and can interact with each other.
